My first encounter with coding was with the C Microcontroller programming courses I took at Cukurova University. And then it started with simple data analysis and machine learning applications we made with Raspberry Pi. Being able to do something tangible using Python libraries triggered my interest in coding. I would like to express my thanks to my teacher here, Ercan Avşar.
During my education years, I had to work full time for a long time due to financial circumstances. And I found that "Planning manager" position at Aliment Certification. I gained experience about managing an engineer team and efficient use of human resources, even though it was outside my interest. I left here to take a step towards the profession I wanted to do.
After graduating from university, I started looking for an Internship to enter my dream profession, software development. Here we crossed paths with Ron Digital, a delightful company (They actually won "the best workspace" awards 🤗). I took basic PHP courses, code some simple APIs with CRUD operations with Laravel, and simply learned how a website's CMS works. I left here because of my plans to settle in the Netherlands with my wife.
After we got married, my wife and I settled in the Netherlands as we planned. Here, I followed Udemy courses and Youtube courses to improve myself in the software field. I developed simple applications, demo websites myself and started looking for a place where I could learn more. I had an internship opportunity at a wonderful company called Shop Like You Give a Damn (SLYGaD) in Amsterdam. They offered me a great opportunity to improve my technical and social skills during our new life in the Netherlands. In a short time, They become a sincere friends and I started to take responsibility and felt like a real team member.
In my search to take my own skills to the next level, I came across Social Brothers company and after a series of interviews and technical qualification cases, I started as a trainee. I learned a lot about WordPress here. I took part in some demo projects and real projects. I was sure that the side that excited me more was backend applications and I tried to improve myself more in this direction.
When my traineeship was over, both sides seemed satisfied and they offered me a junior software developer position. I gladly accepted. I have made good friends and I can feel that my experience and social skills have increased exponentially (I have to say that I am grateful to "Jascha van Aalst" for sharing all his knowledge🫡). I really enjoy being here right now.
